Oh it's been a while...

...mostly because I'm a paperless board artist now! Cintiq, how I love you. Plus, I've moved up to San Francisco to work at PIXAR. Plus, there's a baby on the way. Plus, I've run out of excuses. So here's my latest 'digital' post-it. Just screwing around with some PSD brushes. I PROMISE I'd do more at LEAST before the end of March!

"She's wearing the T-Shirt..."

"...of my favorite band." A line from a Duncan Sheik song I was listening to, inspired the sketch (she's wearing a BNL - Barenaked Ladies T-Shirt). Ah the ipod. Soon after "Closing Time" by Semisonic came on and I drew the tiny lady sitting at the bar. A little later I was rewatching , well, really only listening, to my Flash Gordan DVD and drew some Hawkmen and such. Why WOULD guys with wings need a 'rocketcycle' anyway?

'Cause I'm a liar

Ok, so if you're one of the one or two people who sneak by here to look for a new post-it, you've probably realized by now that the title of this blog, 'DAILY post-it', is a bold faced lie. I have plenty of excuses, not the least of which is I've been working so much and under conditions which preclude me from doodling on a post-it, nevermind scanning it in and putting it up here...but you have no interest in excuses, do you? You're so harsh sometimes.
In any case, here's a new one. It's actually a little old (I'm back from working offsite, and found this on my desk in my office...I did it a while ago) so I don't remember what the context of a lot of it is/was. Anyway, infer what you will and enjoy!

Michelangelo's Superman

Sorry it's been a while since I've done a post-it, but I've been in Italy for the past two weeks. While that's great news for me, it's tempered with some bad news - the Sony storyboarding job I'd been interviewing for ultimately went to an 'internal canidate' (ie. someone cheaper than me), although they kept telling me how much they liked me and my work. Oh well. So take what inferences you will from this post-it and how it relates to my mood at the moment.
